The 'Fugezi Art'© Project
Page Under Construction. Will feature Calidocious Inc.'s effort to promote Flemish art. This is currently being done via creation of the 'Fugezi Collection'©, a selection of prints of classic Flemish paintings in the public domain.
The coined name 'Fugezi' is derived from an American slang word 'fugazi', meaning 'knock-off'. The business plan of the 'Fugezi Collection'© is to begin by displaying classic Flemish art in a gallery-type setting, and to eventually progress from classic art to Comic Strip art.

| Comic Strip Art, or "Sideways Art" is the most popular graphic art form in Flanders today. In addition to the very popular "Suske and Wiske" series, comic books about popular Flemings such as the comedian Urbanus are best sellers.
The inspiration for the 'Fugezi' comic-strip museum is the world's premier comic strip museum in Brussels.

The 'Fugezi Collection'© currently contains 'fugezies' of masterpieces from the classic period of Flemish art, from 1400-1700.

The current theme of the collection is "The Bruegel Apple"- a comparison of Bruegel's 15th century paintings with photographs of modern day Manhattan- featured on the 'Zootniks' page.

| The 'Fugezi Collection'© is currently housed at the "Little Calidocious®" Guest House at 2249 Glen Way, East Palo Alto, California 94303.

Four hundred years after the golden period of Flemish Art, Belgium graphic artists returned to prominence in the field of cartoon, or 'Sideways", art.
"Lucky Luke" is by the Belgian artist Morris and the "Smurfs" is by the Belgian artist Peyo.
