Zoot Notes on a Zoophonium
The saxophone is the instrument that best captures the essence of a foggy day on San Francisco Bay. The sound of the saxophone is complex, mellow, and sad- yet also tinged with humour.
Interestingly, the Saxophone was invented in Belgium! Mr. Sax invented the saxophone to "bridge the gap" between wind instruments, like the clarinet, and brass instruments, like the trumpet.
The Saxophone turned out to be so successful that it gave rise to further inventions like the 'Euphonium'- a sort of horn used by marching bands.
